First Year of Issue, 1948 P and D Franklin Half Pair (Philadelphia Mint and Denver Mint). The Franklin Half silver series is unusual in that it celebrates an American citizen who was not a U.S. president. Minted from 1948 to 1963, this completed silver series is a fitting tribute to Benjamin Franklin, perhaps the greatest statesman of the colonial times in America.
I just purchased and received several Franklin Half Dollars and was very happy and satisfied with the quality of the coins and the level of service from Mt. Vernon. I'll be back again next month. I like to buy a few old silver coins every month.

Sadly discovered that since these are not from the US Mint, the impressions are weak.
