This is a fascinating Type! President Theodore Roosevelt had tremendous pride in America, and wanted a new series of gold coins to express his sentiments. In 1907, the President had new designs created to replace the Liberty series. Each design is beautiful, with the $2.50, $5.00 and $10.00 depicting an Indian, and the $20.00 Saint Gaudens depicting an image of a Standing Liberty. A gorgeous series which will make the perfect addition to any collection.

$2.50 Indian Gold Coins: Struck from 1908 thru 1929, this series was the one of the first in the U.S. to have an incused or “sunken” design. There are 15 issues in the series, struck at the Denver and Philadelphia mints, with the 1911-D and the 1914-P being the keys of the set.

$5.00 Indian Gold Coins: Struck from 1908 thru 1929, this series was the one of the first in the U.S. to have an incused or “sunken” design. The Key Dates to the series are the 1909-O and the 1929 issues.

$10.00 Indian Gold Coins: This is one of the most exquisite designs of all U.S. coins. Struck from 1907 thru 1932, the 1907 date was struck in high relief.

$20.00 St. Gaudens Gold Coin: Containing nearly one ounce of net pure gold, this handsome design was created by the sculptor Augustus St. Gaudens. First struck in 1907, this coin was issued in a High Relief Variety in a very small quantity with the date in roman numerals. Later in the year, the relief of the coin was lowered and the date was written in Arabic numerals, continuing thru 1932.
